Jesus said that we are the "light of the world" and that each of us has a responsibility to show Christ to the world around us. That can become so general we can forget that the "world" around us begins with our neighbors and co-workers. Ultimately, our desire is that each member of our church actively engage in the culture around us, being salt and light.
Here at First Church, not only do we want to impact our community, we want to help our members reach their community as well. We believe this happens best at a "grassroots" level in homes, neighborhood, workplaces, and coffee shops (just to name a few) using relationships as a tool to show the love of Christ.
Over the course of the year, our members are given many opportunities to engage in the lives of those around them. Whether it is with our Neighborhood block parties, Toys for Tots, or Adobt a block ministry, we keep our hands dirty in the harvest.
